  • Overview

    Performs the routine aspects of cost control assignments requiring a basic knowledge of cost principles, and may perform the routine aspects of scheduling and estimating or be exposed to the various aspects of scheduling  and estimating for training purposes.

     

    **MUST be local to Lloydminster SK.

    **Long term maintenence.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with budget development, progress measurement, cost forecasting and preparing monthly internal and client cost reports for assigned project.
    • Implement basic cost estimating methodologies for each cost element / WBS, and estimate the man hours, material costs, and other project costs.
    • Perform cost forecasting and preparing monthly internal and client cost reports for simple projects.
    • Prepare various spreadsheet reports for project management.
    • Assist in reconciliation of actual costs against project forecast and budget.
    • Prepare and maintain project schedule using current project systems tool (such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.)
    • Assist with preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
    • Assist with preparation of project cost reports including budgets, actuals and forecast of remaining costs.
    • Complete project change order procedures and logs.
    • Assist with preparing internal cost reports for management on a monthly basis.
    • Assists in change notice preparation.
    • Assists Project Controls Specialists at higher level on large or complex projects and is responsible for cost analysis and estimating for simple projects.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in, Construction Management, Engineering, or Accounting/ Finance or related fields is preferred.
    • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

     

     

    Experience:

     

    • 3-5 years progressive responsibility in project controls, construction management or related function.
    • Strong technical accounting and analytical skills.
    • Experience using project management software programs preferred.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

     

    • Proficiency in use of MS Office products.
    • Able to work independently on assignments.
    • Basic understanding of project management components.
    • Ability to solve varied, but straight forward problems, selecting solutions from learned range of alternatives.
    • Well organized and detail oriented.
    • Mathematical aptitude.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
    • Advocate of team concept.
    • Able to interact with all levels of management.
