  • Overview

    We are looking for a competent electrical journeyperson who will assist the crew with installing two pressure control valves with associated wiring, controls, cable trays, transformers, transmitters, control panels and final tie ins. The journeyperson reports directly to the electrical foreperson and must be competent in understanding of industrial oil and gas specifications relating to electrical installation of the aforementioned. This is not an exhaustive list of components, and as such encompasses other requirements deemed important for successful project completion.


    Join the Willbros Construction services (Canada) L.P. team in Regina, Saskatchewan from April, 2018 until July, 2018 or until project completion.


    Successful candidates must reside in the Regina area 



    The Electrician provides support and is responsible for, although not limited to:

    • Supervising and leadership of his or hers apprentice helpers
    • Ensuring the safety of crew members
    • Following OHSA guidelines
    • Planning and scheduling of work assigned to him or her
    • Employee relations
    • Productivity and quality control
    • Administration as it relates to personal safety submissions




    The Electrician must exemplify a safe work culture, is responsible and accountable for the safety of the crew under his/her direction and must understand and accept the importance and legal liability of the role of journeyperson.



    This Includes:

    • Knowing and understanding the requirements of the OHSA
    • Knowing, understanding, communicating and ensuring compliance with the OHSA and company safety policies and procedures
    • Attend mandatory safety tool box meetings




    Comprehends and Understands:

    • Company and project safety programs
    • Occupational health and safety and environment issues
    • Employment standards and company policies
    • How to read plans
    • Layout electrical trench routes through existing plant conditions




    Has Ability To:

    • Effectively communicate orally and in writing, with good comprehension
    • Coach and teach crew members
    • Apply good problem solving and conflict resolution skills
    • Manage differences and diversity at the work site
    • Organize and delegate work amongst apprentices
    • Handle the administrative duties of the position, including completion of required documents associated with the journeyperson.

    • 5+ years industrial electrical oil and gas facility experience
    • Familiar with mcc & switchboard installation
    • Requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and basic reasoning skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
    • Strong analytical, communication and multi-tasking skills
    • Must be flexible, responsive and resourceful 



    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Electrical Journeyman Certificate
