  • Overview

    The Project Manager will be responsible for safety directing, administering and coordinating the day-to-day operational aspects of projects, estimates and cost control.  Accordingly the Project Manager will maintain client relations, project profitability and revenue.

    Responsibilities

    • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing
    • needs and requirements.
    • Foster a positive safety culture with a target for zero accidents
    • Attend pre-job safety meetings
    • Performs monthly safety meetings
    • Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client
    • Effectively applies Willbros Methodology and enforces project standards
    • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
    • Minimizes our exposure and risk on a project
    • Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately
    • Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a daily basis
    • Manages project budget
    • Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing.
    • Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices
    • Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization
    • Forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization
    • Assures project legal documents are completed and signed
    • Identifies business development and add on sales opportunities as they related to a specific project
    • Leads proposal efforts including completing project scoping
    • Keep project team informed of changes within organization
    • Possesses general understanding in application programming, database and system design
    • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application
    • Manages day-to-day client interaction
    • Other requirements as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Working knowledge of basic revenue models, P/L, pricing models, billing procedures and cost-to-completion projections
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the energy sector.
    • Experience in estimating and scheduling
    • Extensive knowledge of industrial site operations, contract management, performance measurement, and cost controls
    • Skilled communicator and ability to build strong relationships through delivery of performance metrics and continuous improvement processes.
    • Sound knowledge of computer software such Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Primavera
    • Experience in project management and cost control
    • Post-secondary education in a related field considered an asset
